Passover Care Package and/or Passover Meal Plan

Passover Care Package—$100

This year, Hartford Hillel is offering two Passover Care Package options.
Each option is available for a gift of $100 to Hartford Hillel.

Package 1: Traditional Passover Care Package

If you select Package 1, Hartford Hillel will provide:

A large bag of kosher-for-Passover groceries available for pick-up in the Hillel Campus Center

Packages will include:

Cans of Matzo Ball Soup (vegetarian option available)
Boxes of Matzo
A box of chocolate-covered Matzo
A variety of Kosher-for-Passover candies
Gefilte Fish
Grape juice
Other Kosher-for-Passover snacks
An invitation to Hartford Hillel's annual first-night Passover Seder hosted by President & Mrs. Harrison
A Passover greeting from you!

All items in the Passover Care Package are certified Kosher-for-Passover.

At students' request, we will be providing larger kosher-for-Passover Care packages than in the past that will contain larger quantities of Passover "staples", such as matzo ball soup.

If you select this option, your student will be notified that there is a Passover Care Package available for him/her to pick up in the Hillel Campus Center.

Package 2: Pre-Passover Shopping Trip to Crown Supermarket

If you select Package 2, Hartford Hillel will provide:

Roundtrip transportation from the University of Hartford to Crown
A $50 gift card to Crown that your student can buy kosher-for-Passover groceries of their choice

If you select this option, your student will be notified that you have purchased a Pre-Passover Shopping Trip to Crown and they will be given the option of going to Crown Supermarket at 12 noon, 2 PM or 4 PM on Wednesday, April 13th.
Gift cards will be distributed to students when we arrive at Crown.

If your student has special dietary needs, please select Package 2. Due to the high number of Passover Care Package requests we receive, we are not able to create Passover Care Packages that meet special dietary needs.

Passover Meal Plan—$150

This year, Hartford Hillel is offering a kosher-for-Passover meal plan. In the past, Hartford Hillel has provided kosher-for-Passover meals to students throughout the week of Passover free-of-charge. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide this service because of its high cost. Alternatively, we are offering parents and students the opportunity to purchase a kosher-for-Passover meal plan.

As part of the kosher-for-Passover meal plan, your student will receive a complete dinner in microwavable containers for each night during the week of Passover. Portions will be generous.

Details:
Meals will be available for pick-up in the Hillel Campus Center from daily 11 AM - 6 PM. Meals for Saturday and Sunday night will be available for pick-up during Shabbat Services and Dinner on Friday (7 PM - 8:30 PM). Students will also have the option of picking up the entire week's worth on meals on Tuesday, April 19th.

On Monday, April 18th, President and Mrs. Harrison will cost a Passover Seder in the 1877 Club. On April 22nd, a kosher-for-Passover Shabbat dinner will be served in the Hillel Campus Center following Shabbat services (approx. 8 P.M.). Both of these meals are available to all students free-of-charge.

A note about the Kosher Kounter during Passover:
Please note that the Kosher Kounter in Commons is closed during Passover. However, if your student is on the kosher meal plan, frozen kosher-for-Passover meals are available in the Commons Dining Hall. If a student wishes to obtain a frozen kosher-for-Passover meal from Commons, s/he should ask any Commons staff member for a meal.
